The Abstract for Haiti Earthquake:
On January 12, 2010 a massive and catastrophic earthquake shook the small country of Haiti. The epicenter occurred approximately 25 km (16 miles) west of the capitol Port-au-Prince. Official estimates recorded 222,570 people killed; 300,000 injured, and 1.3 million displaced. Also, 97,294 houses were destroyed and 188,383 were damaged. The before and after images illustrates focusing on the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Port-au-Prince provides an example of the results of extensive damage throughout the city.
